- Case history: Understanding your lifestyle, occupation, recreational activities, medical history and how they relate to your hearing ability
- Pure tone audiometry: Listen to a series of tones through headphones to measure your ability to hear different frequencies and volumes
- Speech audiometry: Determining what levels of speech is understandable at different loudness intensity levels, in both quiet and noisy situations
- Tympanometry and middle-ear testing: These tests provide information on the functioning of the eardrum and middle-ear system
- Oto-acoustic Emission testing (OAE’s): An objective measurement to determine possible damage to the outer hair cells in the cochlea (inner ear)
